Easter Seals NL/Boccia NL is hosting the 25th Canadian Boccia Championships in St. John’s at the NL Sports Centre, Crosbie Road from November 15-18, 2018. Athletes from across the country will compete for the title of Canadian Champion. This competition will host some of the nation’s best boccia athletes as well as a few of Canada’s top internationally ranked boccia athletes.
Boccia is a Paralympic sport that can be played by anyone, with or without a disability. Originally designed for people with severe cerebral palsy, it is now enjoyed by players with a wide variety of disabilities. Volunteers are needed to support the delivery of the Canadian Boccia Championships in a variety of roles such as lines people, scorekeepers, volunteer desk, greeters, runners, etc. No experience is necessary. An orientation for volunteers will be scheduled the week of the competition at Easter Seals NL on Mount Scio Road in the evening (Date/Time TBC).
